CHRISTMAS MINI

SESSION GUIDE

WELL HELLO THERE

So you've got a Christmas mini session coming up! I've put together this guide to give you an idea of what to expect and a few tips on what you can do to make your session go as smoothly as possible...

WHAT TO DRESS THE KIDS IN FOR THEIR

CHRISTMAS MINI SHOOT

There are less rules when it comes to dressing for a Christmas shoot! You can go glam with sparkly dresses and smart shirts. You could go down the Christmas jumper route. Or even pop on some festive pyjamas. Snuggly winter clothes also work well. As do accessories like hats. If you have siblings, try and co-ordinate their outfits. That's not to say they have to match but the colours should complement each other.

NEED SOME INSPIRATION?

Check out my Pinterest boards for some inspiration on choosing the kids outfits for their Christmas mini session. If you need any help or advice, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

LOCATION

I usually shoot in the great outdoors or in the comfort of my clients own homes. But for these Christmas minis, I'll be inviting you into the comfort of my own home! Given the back to back nature of mini session days, please try not to arrive more than 5 or 10 minutes early, and please don't be late or it may cut into your session time.

You can find me at:

Meridian, Hare Lane, RH7 6JB

If you are coming in from the A22, I am about half a mile down on the right. Look for a house called La Boheme - I am a bit further on, around the bend, on the right. If you are coming in from Brickhouse Lane, I am about half a mile down on the left. You'll see Southlands Nurseries, I am a couple of properties down from there on the left.

Follow the drive to the very end.

THE OTHER 'C' WORD

Let's talk COVID. To keep us all safe, I will implement the following:

A thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces before your arrival.

Some windows and doors left open to ensure the room is well ventilated.

I will wear a mask throughout the session.

I would ask that only one adult brings the children to the studio - other parties are welcome to wait in the car or on the driveway.

As the studio has it's own entrance I would ask that you wait in the doorway where you will be able to see and hear everything and talk to your children. If it's pouring with rain or the kids would be happier with you a bit closer then you are of course welcome to venture inside. If you are coming inside, I would appreciate you wearing a mask.

Please do let me know if you have any questions or concerns about these guidelines.

WHAT IF MY KIDS DON'T BEHAVE? OR REFUSE TO SMILE?

Next up, misbehaving children! Please don't worry about this. Kids will be kids and as a mum myself I've seen it all before. I've got lots of tricks up my sleeves. So don't stress and don't worry if they won't look at the camera or give me a big cheesy grin because I'm after natural moments and smiles anyway.

After your session, I will spend some time choosing the best photos of your kids. When they are ready you will receive an online viewing gallery. This will typically take around a week. Your deposit includes 3 digital images and a Facebook cover. So you are welcome to choose the 3 photos you would like and I will then pop them into the Faceboock cover for you. If you would like to upgrade to 5 images and a pack of 10 printed cards, you can do so for £25. Details on how to upgrade will be sent with your gallery.
