A Socially Distanced Family Photoshoot

Socially distanced family photoshoot? Is it possible? Well Covid-19 has put paid to a lot of our plans, including our lovely summer holiday in Italy, but thankfully it doesn’t have to mean missing out on family photographs. Shooting outdoors, in the open air, with long lenses means it’s really easy to stay more than 2m apart at all times. Just like we did in these lovely buttercup fields...

IS NOW REALLY A GOOD TIME TO HAVE A FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT?

Now is the perfect time. Young children change so quickly and with older folks and those that are shielding still not able to see their families, having some new images you can send will really make their day. Plus it’s the perfect time of year for outdoor sessions.

WHAT DOES A SOCIALLY DISTANCED FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT COST?

The same as a regular one! You can find prices for a full family photography session here. But because of the current situation I am offering mini sessions for a limited time. These are perfect if you haven’t had a family photography session before and want to try it out. Or if you just want a few new photos to add to your collection. Click here to read more about them.

SO WHAT WILL CHANGE BECAUSE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING?

Not much really. I don’t shoot in a studio anyway, so outdoor family or children’s photography sessions won’t change much at all. I’ll just take extra care not to breach the 2m gap.

At home sessions are not possible at the moment, but that doesn’t seem to matter all that much when we are surrounded by so much beautiful countryside in Sussex, Surrey and Kent. The only issue you may have is deciding where you want your family photoshoot to take place...

WHAT PRECAUTIONS WILL I TAKE?

I’ll wash my hands, whilst singing Happy Birthday twice of course, before I come and meet you. And like everybody else at the moment, I’ve always got a bottle of hand sanitiser in my bag that I use regularly.

I wash any props that I may bring with me, such as blankets for you to sit on, after every single use. But I do this anyway, global virus pandemic or not.

I will also make sure that everyone in my household is symptom-free on the day of your family photoshoot. If anyone is unwell then I will let you know ASAP and we can reschedule.

I won’t wear a mask as standard but if you would prefer me to then I would be more than happy - just let me know in advance.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD YOU TAKE?

The same as me please! Wash your hands, be mindful of the 2m distance, and if anyone in your household is unwell then please let me know. There will, of course, be no cancellation charge. We’ll just find another date that works for us both.
