We made the most of the last of the summer sun during this family photoshoot, and Bushy Park in Surrey was the perfect location. Mummy, daddy, two beautiful little girls and one gorgeous little boy.
A LOVELY LOCATION FOR A FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT
We settled on Bushy Park for this photoshoot. I've never been before and actually didn't realise it was one of the Royal Parks, but I will be certainly be heading back. Deer roaming free, ponds, meandering streams with cute little bridges. Idylic! Well, apart from the 40 minutes it took me to find a parking space... Luckily I was early. We took these photos in the Pheasantry Woodland Gardens which are just magical.
These guys had invested in family photograpy when both of their girls were young and wanted to do the same now their little boy was up and on his feet.

And delicious they are!
GET IN THE PHOTO
Mummy booked this session because despite having thousands of photos on her phone, she has only a handful of her with her babies, all selfies. So my main aim during this session was to capture some sweet moments of her and her gorgeous children.
When I was looking for a photographer and read what you’d written about your style and motherhood in general I was sure you’d be the perfect person! Cannot wait to get in some nice cuddly snaps with them to cherish forever.
BUT LETS NOT FORGET DADDY!
We got some lovely candid shots of daddy with his kids as well. Most of these were taken whilst mummy was getting changed in the bushes!
DOING IT FOR THE KIDS
Parents do tend to worry about how well behaved their kids are going to be during a family photography session and there is no need. Even when they are tired and bit grumpy, I'm laways ready to capture the happier moments. These kids were amazing. Not phased at all by having a camera pointed at them.
WHAT TO WEAR FOR A SUMMER FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT
When you book a shoot you receive a session guide to help you get ready. It's full of advice and tips on what to wear. This family chose two different looks. First up they chose white tops and blue jeans for everyone but managed to avoid that matchy-matchy look by having a variety of styles of tops and varying shades of blue jeans. They then did a quick change in the bushes (oh, you thought photography sessions were glamourous?!) into summer dresses and the cutest little outfit for the youngest.
Importantly, they all look comfortable in their clothes and they've chosen outfits that won't date their photos. Check out my Pinterest board for more inspiration on what to wear to your summer photoshoot.
