Spring Family Photoshoot in Surrey

family photography spring

I love family photography sessions in the spring. After the gloom and doom of a long, dark winter, spring is such as contrast. It's light, bright and airy. You can feel the sun's warmth. The trees are budding. The flowers are beginning to bloom. And the leaves on the trees never look as vivid as they do at this time of year.

So here are some images from a recent family photography session in Surrey. As you can see, it was a gorgeous spring day and the light was just magical. This family wanted to update their photos before the arrival of their new baby sister. When we did this session she was cooking in mum's tum. She has made her arrival into the world now so click here to see her newborn photography session.

PHOTOGRAPHING CHILDREN OUTDOORS

This was a fun family photography session! In no small part because the weather was on our side. We basically just took a stroll through the woods and let the kids be kids. Doing what they do best. Running. Playing. Hiding. Climbing. Finding sticks. Lots of fun! Here are a few of my favourites...

CHOOSING THE RIGHT OUTFITS FOR YOUR OUTDOOR SPRING PHOTOSHOOT

It's daunting trying to decide what to wear to a family photography session. But these boys are dressed perfectly. There's a little colour in their clothes that works well with the vibrant light we had that Spring day. Also, their outfits complement each other without being too matchy. There is no visible branding which is important because you don't want your images to date. Making good choices about what you wear ensures this won't happen.

Do you want some inspiration on what to wear? Why not take a look at my Spring family photography Pinterest board? You can also see some images from another outdoor Spring photography session here.
