I had a lovely early spring extended family photoshoot with 3 generations of the same family in Lingfield on the Surrey, Sussex, Kent border. As a Surrey family photographer, it is one of my favourite locations for a family photoshoot.
The grandmother booked this session to include her daughter and son and their respective families. With them spread across Oxted, Limpsfield and Surbiton, this was a great excuse to get everyone together for lunch and the chance to capture some family memories afterwards.
It was touch and go as to whether we would be able to hold the photoshoot thanks to the awful weather that day. But having pushed it back a little, we did manage to squeeze it in what felt like the only dry spell that day.
OUTDOOR FAMILY PHOTOS IN A BEAUTIFUL LINGFIELD PARK
We held this session in a lovely little park in Lingfield. It is one of my favourite photography locations. I usually shoot in the little orchard because despite being in the middle of the village, you can do a 360 degree spin and see nothing but nature! It's lovely and quiet too, so no audience!
But as this was the end of March and there was very little in the way of leaves on any of the trees, we opted instead for the Butterfly Scented Garden. It's a little space which in the summer is a riot of colour. But in March it provided us with some much needed greenery and a subtle, natural backdrop.

As a Surrey family photographer, I love extended family sessions and seeing the bond between grandparents and their grandchildren, and their own children - you're never too old for photos with mum and dad!
FAMILY PORTRAITS
We also took time to photograph each of the families by themselves. An extended family photoshoot can be a great value to update your images.
AND NOT FORGETTING THE LITTLE PEOPLE
Just around the corner in the orchard, there may not have been any leaves on the trees but there was a patch of daffodils.
