Recently, I had the pleasure of working with an amazing family to create lasting memories for them on a lovely summers morning at Foots Cray Meadows - with the delightful twist that mum is pregnant with twins!
Riverside Loveliness at Foots Cray Meadows
Foots Cray Meadows, nestled in the heart of Kent, is a photographer's dream. For this photoshoot, we chose to capture the family's moments along the banks of the picturesque riverside, surrounded by the ever graceful weeping willows.
This serene setting cannot fail to add an extra dose of charm to family photos. I've shot here a few times now - scroll down to the bottom to take a peek at some of those sessions.
My aim is always to capture families in perfect harmony with nature, and this location makes it effortless.
Preparation and Wardrobe
A successful family photo shoot outdoors requires careful planning, and that includes wardrobe selection.
As we were shooting in the summer, this family chose pretty summer dresses that beautifully complemented the natural surroundings.
Comfortable outfits allowed everyone to move freely, making for more authentic and relaxed photographs.
Timing is everything when it comes to family photo shoots outdoors. To make the most of the soft, flattering sunlight, we scheduled the session in the early morning.

After our fun session at Foots Cray Meadows, I couldn't wait to send the gallery to the family. The images are a perfect blend of candid and posed family moments, the excitement of what is to come, and the serene riverside setting with the weeping willows.
