I have vivid memories of many a night sat sifting through an old plastic bread bin from the 70s (it was brown and orange!) that my parents kept a load of old photos in. Photos of them before us, of us as babies and young children. I can still see all the albums stored in the drawer in their divan. Don't get me wrong, I love technology. I ditched all my tapes, CDs and mini discs (they were so underrated!) for digital music. I also chucked all my videos and DVDs for digital copies. And swapped my books for ebooks. I also had all my old APS films digitally converted and promptly threw away all my albums.

And that last one I regret to the point that I am slowly working my way through and reprinting them! Because music and films and books will always be available in whatever newfangled format we devise in the future. But our photos? Well that's not going to be so easy...
